• Species vegetating at densities over 5 10⁶ cells.l^-1, or procusing biomasses over 30 g m^-3 are considered to be harmful, since phytoplankton hyperproduction leads to regular violations of the ecosystem (Velikova V., Moncheva S., Petrova D., 1999)
• Concetration of orgaisms in red tides range from 1 x 10⁶cells.l^-1 to 1 x 10⁸cells.l^-1 (Koray, 1984)
